Raised Beds – A Way to Age in Place

Dear Husband fretted about my back surgery keeping me from gardening, so he built four raised beds for me to play with!

Aren’t they grand? (thank you, Honey)

They are each built of pressure treated lumber and measure 4 by 4 feet, easy enough to reach from all sides.

He installed them on one side of the back yard near existing split rail fences and then installed metal fencing around them to keep the deer out. Best tomatoes ever from them this year!

The raised beds with “stuff” in them

What have you done or are planning to do to be able to continue to garden as strength or coordination fails you?
